We met at secondary school and had been friends for a while. Luke tried to convince Abi she had promised him a "Christmas Kiss" - she hadn't but his persistence worked a charm. We went on our first date at Oare Gunpowder works in Faversham on 3rd January. Spoiler: Luke got his Christmas kiss that day.
We adopted our first kitty from the RSPCA for Abi's 21st birthday as she's always been a cat lover! We called him Finnick, after Finnick Odair from The Hunger Games. We quickly realised he needed a friend, so a month later adopted Ginny, named after Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter. Sadly we lost Finnick to a tumour in June 2021.
With months of meticulous planning we got engaged on 8th June. Luke had pre-arranged a photo shoot with a local photographer where he would ask Abi to marry him, He got his Mum to gift Abi the photoshoot for her birthday in February to book in for the summer, so she wouldn't be suspicious. The photoshoot took place at Oare Gunpowder works in Faversham and halfway through we were positioned face to face in front of the lake and told to chat for a minute while the photographer "sorted his light settings". This was Luke's cue - he got down on one knee and asked Abi to marry him.
We got married on 23rd June. Our ceremony was at Faversham Baptist Church where Abi's Dad is the Minister - he walked her down the aisle and then did the service! Our reception was held at a family member's house. The garden started off very overgrown, but in the year leading up to the day we helped dig it out and lay new turf. We wanted everything to be relaxed, so had a marquee, hired a bar and let everyone have fun!
We managed to get out of renting and onto the property ladder! We absolutely love our little flat. Somehow we still haven't finished decorating...!
We have been very open about our fertility journey and were delighted to announce this year that baby Scarfe is due April 2022! We are having a little girl. Check out our announcement and gender reveal videos on our Instagram.
Our daughter Felicity was born in March this year and has made our family complete. We are utterly besotted with her - anyone up for a new apprentice at their wedding!?
